Jason Augustus Cook

Mr. Jason Augustus Cook, 38, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on November 25, 2017. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Edwards officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.

Jason was born on September 24, 1979 to Carl Walter Cook and Linda Junkin Cook in Cleveland, MS. He began working at Crawdads when he was 14 and worked for 20 years there. Jason also worked as a correctional officer for many years as well as JanTran then went on to own Cooks Painting and Remodeling. He was a grill master who loved to cook. Jason enjoyed working out; he would even go twice a day. He cherished and loved his children, Peyton and Harlee Cook.

He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Walter Cook; grandparents, Albert and Inez Junkin; aunt, Audrey Kealhofer; and uncles, Bruce Cook and Larry Cook.

Jason is survived by his mother, Linda Junkin Cook of Cleveland, MS; children, Peyton Cook of Wayside, MS, and Harlee Cook of Leland, MS; aunt, Frances Boswell of Cleveland, MS; uncles, Albert Junkin of Merigold, MS and Bobby Junkin of Brandon, MS; and many cousins.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations and memorials be made to Baptist Children’s Village or Palmer Home.
