Mr. Albert Polk McClellan, 85, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his daughter's home in Holly Springs, MS. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial starts at 10:30 a.m., with Father Kent Bowlds officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Mr. McClellan was born in Morgan City, MS, on August 5, 1930, to James David McClellan and Zudie Campbell McClellan as the youngest of 12 children. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War as Sergeant Major. During his time he earned 5 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Combat Infantry Medal, and was also nominated for a Silver Star. On November 11, 1952, he married Gloria Jean Guerieri in Cleveland, and for forty years, he operated 7-11 Service Center. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, working in the yard, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria McClellan of Cleveland; children, Connie Hegwood (Pat) of Holly Springs, Valerie McClellan (David Johnston) of Madison, Bruce McClellan (Dianne) of Deville, LA, Steve McClellan (Ladye Ann) of Hernando, Jimmy McClellan (Connie) of Cleveland, and Aimee Coleman (Franklin) of Leland; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bruce McClellan, Steve McClellan, Jimmy McClellan, Pat Hegwood, David Johnston, and Franklin Coleman.
