Alice 'Mangialardi' Tarsi

Alice Mangialardi Tarsi, 98, of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Shelby and Cleveland, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015, at Golden Living in Alabama. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland. Interment will be in Shelby Cemetery. Mrs. Tarsi was born in Shelby, MS on July 13, 1916, to Sam Mangialardi and Albina Angioletti Mangialardi. On November 30, 1935, she married Elio Tarsi in Shelby. She was a faithful member of her church, attending mass daily. She loved to play cards, cook and sew; but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was a kind and generous lady who loved to help others. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Albina Mangialardi; husband, Elio Tarsi; and son, Eugene Tarsi. Mrs. Tarsi is survived by her daughter, Barbara T. Woods (Edgar) of Vestavia, AL; daughter-in-law, Jeanette F. Tarsi of Cleveland, MS; grandchildren, Edgar H. Woods III of Pelham, AL, Denise W. Oliver (Tom) of Vestavia, AL, Beverly Alice Barry of Vestavia, AL, Jeff M. Tarsi (Cindy) of Collierville, TN, Allison T. McCrory (Bill) of Cordova, TN, Lori T. Cartwright (Brent) of Jackson, MS, and Michelle T. Sasser of St. Louis, MO; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Charlie Mangialardi of Chicago, IL. Pallbearers will be Jeff Tarsi, Edgar Woods, Bill McCrory, Tom Oliver, Brent Cartwright, and Victor Tarsi. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Tarsi and Lloyd Brown. The family would like to say thank you to the nurses and CNA's at Golden Living for their kindness and care to Mrs. Tarsi.
