Mrs. Alicia Casarez Soto, 90, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, April 8, 2013, at North Sunflower Medical Center, Ruleville, MS. Rosary will be 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Our Lady Victories Catholic Church followed by visitation, then the Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 A.M. with Kent Bowlds officiating. Interment will be at Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mrs. Soto was born in Texas on June 10, 1922, to Domingo Casarez and Juanita Ybarra. She married Daniel Soto in Mathis, TX. Everybody knew her as the lady who had dinner for all the kids in the neighborhood. She was a devout Catholic who loved to pray her Rosary and she always put family first and took care of them. In her younger years, she was an active member in numerous clubs.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Juanita Casarez; husband, Daniel Soto; son, Robert Daniel Soto, Jr; daughter, Irene Soto; brothers, Israel Casarez, Luis Casarez, Donaciano Romero; sisters, Salome Esquivel, Ida Balsaldu, Ramona Lopez; and her aunt who raised her, Filomena Ybarra.
Mrs. Soto is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Enriquez (Nick) of Cleveland; son, Roel Soto (Geraldine) of Cleveland; grandson, Richard Enriquez (Donna) of Collierville, TN; granddaughter, Misty Osborn (John) of Southaven, MS; five great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; sisters, Isabel Lopez of Portland, OR, Susie Franco (Joe) of Mathis, TX, Claudina Cansino, San Antonio, TX, and Paula Hardy of San Antonio.
In memory of Mrs. Soto, memorials can be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church.
