Alvin Campbell

Mr. Campbell was born August 1, 1924 to Wittie E. and Ruby Cox Campbell. He was a retired craftsman and carpenter for more than 60 years. He proudly served our country in the Navy in WWII. He was a wonderful husband, loving father, and adored his grandchildren. He loved to sing and write songs, gospel music, gardening, wood working projects, and telling jokes. He had an overwhelming love for nature and wildlife. He would feed his feathered friends early every day and watch their beauty and enjoy their thankfulness as he drank his morning coffee. He never turned away a shy homeless animal and looked forward to seeing them every evening at suppertime.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wittie E. and Ruby C. Campbell; his twin brother, Calvin; brothers, Leo and Frank, and a sister, Elizabeth Campbell.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances Campbell; daughter, Cindy Wood of Cleveland, MS; two sons, Jimmy Campbell (Diane) of Vicksburg, and Darren Carroll (Peaches) of Cleveland, MS; 4 grandchildren, Turner Wood (Caitlin), Dustin Carroll, Lauren Carroll, and Lindsey Carroll.
