Mrs. Alyce West Richardson, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sid Harmon officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, 2010 from 5- 7 at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow funeral in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Richardson was born on August 2, 1930 to Cordelia McNeese West and John Parker West. She married Clarence James “Rich” Richardson, Jr. on October 16, 1950. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, where she sang in the choir, served on the Finance Committee, and Marguerite Bolling Circle. Mrs. Richardson was the first female president of Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce, the co- owner of West Implement Co. until it was sold in 1983, and served on the Board of Directors for Valley Bank (now The State Bank and Trust).
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cordelia McNeese West and John Parker West; daughter, Paker Alyce Richardson; and brother, Arthur Clayton West.
Mrs. Richardson is survived by her son, Clarence James “Jimbo” Richardson, III (Yamina) of Jackson, MS; daughters, Lucy Janoush (Paul) of Cleveland, MS and Lee McKinley (Randall) of Monroe, GA; grandchildren, Will Janoush (Andrea), Mary Parker Janoush, Nick McKinley, and Rich McKinley.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Paul Warrington, Dr. David Walt, Tom Janoush, Allan Savoie, Robert Heslep, Josh Warrington, Johnny West, Ed Kossman, Jr., and David Work.
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland, 1100 Hwy 8, Cleveland, MS 38732, Delta State University Foundation- Margaret Wade Memorial, Cleveland, MS 38733, and National Association of Junior Auxiliaries.
