Amy Sims Gregory, 80, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2014 at her home. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. John Autry officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Gregory was born march 6, 1933, in Cleveland, MS to Fred Greene Sims and Daisy Kendall Sims. On July 3, 1952, she married James Olzie Gregory in Cleveland. She worked as the head teller at First National Bank. She enjoyed gardening, spending time with her children, reading the bible, and talking about the Lord.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Daisy Sims; husband, James Gregory; two grandsons, James Matthew Gregory and Michael Allen Johnson and a brother, C.D. Sims.
Mrs. Gregory is survived by her children, Jimmy Gregory (Dianne) of Shaw, Suellen Rogers (Keith) of Cleveland, Denise Worthey (Tommy) of Cleveland, and Henry Gregory (Angie) of Cleveland; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ardette Cook (John) of Lenoit, NC and Jeanette Fortenberry of Brandon.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Gregory, Davis Worthey, Jeff Whatley, Andrew Barr, Matthew Warren, Brandon Johnson, and Blake Swanson.
