Ann Kelly Francis

Ann Kelly Francis, 81, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at her home in Ruleville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 13, 1942, in Cary, Mississippi, to Thomas Earl Kelly and Clytee Swindoll Kelly of Boyle, MS, Ann lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those around her.

Ann married the love of her life, Charlie Francis, and together they shared 59 years of marriage, building a strong, loving family. Ann was the proud mother of three sons: Tripp Francis (Tiffany) of Madison, Mississippi, Mike Francis of Leland, and Eddie Francis (Angela) of Madison. Ann was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren: Cade Francis of Leland, Mason Francis Smallwood (Justin) of Inverness, Will Francis and Tyler Francis of Oxford and Emily and Maggie Francis of Madison; and one great-grandchild, Myles Smallwood of Inverness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Earl Kelly and Clytee Swindoll Kelly, and her two brothers Thomas Earl Kelly, Jr. and Hiram Edward Kelly.

Ann was a graduate of Cleveland High School, class of 1960. She embarked on a successful career in banking, beginning at Cleveland State Bank and continuing with Citizens Bank of Belzoni, Guaranty Bank of Belzoni, eventually retiring from Planter’s Bank of Ruleville. Ann's dedication, hard work, and professionalism earned her the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.

Known for her vivacious personality and infectious sense of humor, Ann had a unique ability to light up any room she entered. Her presence was a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her, and her memory will be cherished by those she touched.

Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Ruleville Baptist Church in Ruleville, Mississippi, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Ann’s name to Ruleville Baptist Church, 364 N Ruby Avenue, Ruleville, MS 38771, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
