Anna Lee Schooler, 97, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Walter B. Crook Nursing Facility in Ruleville, Mississippi. Viewing will be 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019, at St. Luke United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2019, at St. Luke United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Speegle officiating. Interment will be in Shelby City Cemetery.
She was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 15, 1922, to her parents Virginia Littrell and David Feck. She married Albert Schooler in Lexington, Kentucky, on March 27, 1939, and they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1941 where they lived for eighteen years. It was during this time she developed a life-ling love for the Cincinnati Reds baseball team.
Anna and her husband moved to Shelby, Mississippi, in 1962. She loved meeting people and becoming an Avon Sales Representative gave that opportunity on a daily basis. She also served as the vice-president of the First United Methodist Society of Women in Shelby.
Anna is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Schooler; her loving and talented son, Doug Schooler; her parents, David Feck and Virginia Littrell; her loving sister, Mary "Louise" White Henry; and brother-in-law, Henry White.
She is survived by her nieces Betty Meece of Lancaster, Kentucky, and Judy Young of Orlando, Florida; nephew, John Martin (Kathy); brother-in-law, Don Henry; great nephews, Paul Martin of Nicholasville, Kentucky, Tommy Martin of High Bridge, Kentucky, and Patrick Deaton of Auburndale, Florida.
Anna always enjoyed life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She stayed involved with Delta State baseball because her son Doug had played for the Statesman. After Doug's death, she endowed a Doug Schooler baseball scholarship at Delta State University.
