Barbara Joan Campbell Avritt of Shaw, MS died Saturday morning, October 9, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years of age. Funeral services will be held at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 4p.m and will be officiated by David Chrestman.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 58 years, Travis L. Avritt, Sr.; five children: Travis L (Vern) Avritt, Jr. (Tina) of Greenville, MS, David J. Avritt (Nancy) of Pensacola, Fl, Reneâ A. Royse (David) of St. Louis, MO, Sharon A. Sisk (Kevin) of Wake Forest, NC, and Anita A. Thomas (David) of London, England; daughter-in-law, Lisa G. Avritt of Greenville, MS; 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Robert (Bobby) G. Avritt and her mother Gladys H. Campbell.
Barbara was a member of the Shaw Congregation of Jehovahâs Witnesses. She was born in Brownsville, TX and spent her childhood in Brandon, MS. For the last 58 years she has been a resident of Shaw. Pallbearers will be John Avritt, Tyler Royse, Chandler Thomas, Dawson Sisk, Eric Aplin, Paul Wayne Fitts and Tim Fitts.
