Barbara "Babs" Koenig Daniels, 69, of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Bolivar Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 25, 2011, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland. Burial will be held at St. Patrick Cemetery in Chanute, Kan.
Visitation will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland.
She was born June 5, 1941, to Carl Koenig and Lavon Groome Koenig in Chanute, Kan. She married Dean Daniels on June 23, 1962. She attended Kansas State University and graduated from Delta State University in Cleveland with a bachelor of science in education, master's of education and an education specialist degrees. She was a special education teacher in the Drew and Cleveland School Districts and served as the director of testing in the Sunflower County School District. She also served as director of special education services and was school psychologist of the Cleveland School District. She was a founding member of the Mississippi Association of Psychology in Schools (MAPS). She was a member of the National Association of School Psychologists and served as a delegate and represented Mississippi. She was also a member of the Council for Exceptional Children.
She is survived by her husband, Dean Daniels of Cleveland; two daughters, Tempa Daniels Fleming (Hal) of Quitman and Kendell Daniels Roberts (Brad) of Cleveland; and three grandchildren, Caleb Worsham of Charleston, Ill., Trevor Worsham of Edwardsville, Ill., and Griffith Roberts of Cleveland.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
