Bedford Buz Forrest Peeples
Mr. Bedford Forrest "Buz" Peeples, 79, of Benoit, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Clarence Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
Buz was born in Brookhaven, MS, on January 17, 1939, to Joseph Lawrence Peeples and Willie Decelle Forrest Peeples. On October 2, 1958, he married Doris Jean Burton in Cleveland, MS, and they had three children together. After her passing, he married Rebecca Allen on July 3, 1991.
He worked for over 35 years in personnel management until his retirement in 1997. Buz was full of life and embraced every minute of it. You could see this in his joyful spirit and in his love of making people laugh, especially with his hunting stories. He loved camping on the Mississippi River, cheering on the Mississippi State Bulldogs, cooking and BBQ contests, singing, fishing, and duck hunting with his best friend, "Big Daddy". He greatly enjoyed holidays with his family. He also has a love for Cajun cuisine and music. Most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with them. His grandchildren and children were his pride and joy.
Buz is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lawrence Peeples and Willie Decelle Forrest Peeples; wife and mother of his children, Doris Jean Burton Peeples; and beloved second wife, Rebecca Jane Allen Peeples.
He is survived by his daughter, Wendy Peeples Curry (Mike) of Wildwood, MO; son, Bedford Forrest Peeples, II (Becky) of Collierville, TN; daughter, Paige Peeples Bledsoe (Tim) of Red Oak, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Curry, Seth Valentine, Grace Valentine, Forrest Peeples, and Dorie Peeples; and sister, Annie Carolyn Peeples Jones of Greenwood.
