Mrs. Bernice Lucille Thompson Edwards, 87, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Bolivar Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Darrin Duckworth and Bro. Larry Chouccoli officiating. Interment will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Nettleton, MS.
Mrs. Edwards was born August 26, 1925, in Nettleton, MS, to John Bunion Thompson and Vergie Lou Pearl Burdine Thompson. On September 13, 1947, she married Loyal Norris Edwards in Oklona, MS. She was a dedicated employee at Baxter Healthcare for over 25 years. Mrs. Edwards was extremely artistic and enjoyed painting, crafting, crocheting, sewing, and working with ceramics. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, loved her bible, enjoyed word search puzzles and the game show network, and cherished every moment with her great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John Bunion and Vergie Lou Pearl Thompson, and her husband, Loyal Norris Edwards.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by her daughter, Brenda Edwards Mallette (Kenneth) of Cleveland; granddaughters, Tammy Mallette Glorioso (James) of Cleveland and Susan Mallette Stewart (Michael) of Senatobia; great-grandchildren, Emma Glorioso, Layton Glorioso both of Cleveland, and John Caston Stewart of Senatobia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In memory of Mrs. Edwards, memorials can be made to St. Luke Methodist Church in Cleveland.
