Betty Cooper

Mrs. Betty Ann Bagwell Cooper, 73, of the Steiner Community near Shaw, Mississippi died at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson on Thursday, March 29, 2012.
The memorial service will be held, Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Linn Methodist Church in Linn, MS at 2:00 p.m. with entombment immediately following services.
Betty Ann was born April 17, 1938 to Wayne and Mary Emma Bagwell. Wife of 47 years to Travis E Cooper, Sr., Betty Ann was mother to 3 children, Travis E "Chip" Cooper, Jr (wife, Janet McCollum Cooper and children--Blaine and Samuel), Bradley A Cooper (wife, Angela McCoy Cooper and child, Britton), Carmen E Cooper Oguz (husband, Cetin Oguz and children--Cooper and Cruz).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Mary Emma Bagwell, and her brother Myron Eugene Bagwell.
Betty Ann graduated from Cleveland High School, Delta State University, and University of Tennessee with a degree in Medical Technology. She was manager of the North Sunflower County Hospital's laboratory for 30 years. Retirement didn't suit Betty Ann, so she finished her career by working another 10 years as a technologist at Bolivar Medical Center. Also known as Pee Willy, also known as Mustang Betty…she never ceased to be known for her love, affection, and affinity for her family, antique convertible Mustang restoration, and her dogs. Even though she was retired, she never ceased caring for others as evidenced by the many hours she spent monitoring the illnesses and cures of others on the Caring Bridge website.
Because of her husband's and sons' involvement with the LSR Volunteer Fire Department, Betty Ann requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the LSR Volunteer Fire Department at 996 Steiner Road, Shaw, Mississippi 38773.
