Betty Lynn Donald, 88, passed away on July 7, 2012 at Indywood Estate in Cleveland, MS. She was born February 1, 1924, in Vicksburg, MS., she was the daughter of Nicholas and Mary Donald.
She graduated from Cary (MS) High School in 1941 and continued her education with a Bachelor of Science in 1944, a Master of Business Education in 1956, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1971.
She never married and spent her career teaching high school and college students. She taught business education at Whitehaven High School for ten years from 1946-1956 before moving to Cleveland, MS where she taught secretarial sciences from 1956 until her retirement in 1985.
She was active in the Mississippi, Southern, and National Business Associations, receiving numerous awards for outstanding scholarship, service, and leadership.
She loved her church, First Baptist Church in Cleveland, and her good friends. She spent the last five years of her life living at Indywood Estate in Cleveland.
Reverend Milton Burd of Cleveland will conduct the graveside service. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue in Memphis.
Visitation for friends will be from 5:30-6:30 on Monday, July 9 at Ray Funeral Home.

She is survived by one second cousin, Joan Carr of Memphis, and one third cousin, Donna Ellis of Sacramento, California.
