Betty Juanita Gibbs

Betty Juanita Gibbs (Canady), 80, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 29, 2022.  Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  A second visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will be at Old Cleveland Cemetery. 

Betty was born July 3, 1941, to Henry and Mary Louella Canady in Gunnison, MS, where she grew up and attended school.  For several years she was a cosmetologist and then went on to be a medical assistant until following her passion and opening her own business.  Betty was the owner of B&J Kennels in Carrollton, GA for over 20 years.  This was her lifelong passion.  Even as a young girl she was always trying to rescue animals.  In her free time, she loved to crochet.  Betty made blankets, clothes, & pictures.  She was a member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family. 

She is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Mary Louella Canady; son, Terry Lynn Cantrell; brother, Bobby Canady; sisters, Peggy Sue Tyson and Mary Milam; and great grandchild, Abel.

Betty is survived by her daughter, “BJ” Cantrell of Rome, GA; sons, Charles Michael Cantrell (Cissy) of Hammond, LA and Phillip Duane Cantrell of Tickfaw, LA; grandchildren, Amanda, Joseph, Elizabeth, Sarah, Joshua, Mike, Matthew, Aaron, Casey, Phillip Jr., Christopher, Tiffany, Tasha, and Telesa; great grandchildren, Cameran, Bobby, Giovanni, Landon, Skyler, Liam, Gavin, Leif, Faith, McKenna, Hayden, Grayson, Isaiah, Ryan, Jeremiah, Alex, Aurora, Lillian, Lydia, Devans, Nathan, Izabella, and Alyssa; great greatgrandchild, Eliana; siblings, Lloyd Canady (Diane) of Boyle, MS, David Canady (Brenda) of Shaw, MS, James Canady of Shaw, MS, Stanley Canady (Brenda) of Shelby, MS, Janet Traywick (Steve) of Clinton, AR, and Joann Lambert of McComb, MS.
