Mrs. Billie Faye Foster Baker, 79, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Cleveland Health and Rehab. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Haney officiating. Interment will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Baker was born December 1, 1934, in Jackson, TN to Mose Clyde Foster and Earlene "Friday" Foster. On August 11, 1950, she married Melvin Arvis Baker. She attended Shaw School as well as Cleveland Bolivar County Nursing School, and she worked for 35 plus years as an LPN. Mrs. Baker was a very religious person, and she took online seminar courses often. She enjoyed yard work, gardening; and she was always thinking about and loving her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Melvin Arvis Baker of Cleveland; children, David F. Baker (Debra) of Cleveland, Janice Weeks (W.D.) of Charleston, and Aaron Baker of Water Valley; grandchildren, Daniel Baker, Dewayne Weeks, Paige Weeks Crockrell, Joseph Weeks, Aaron Baker, Jr., Karmen Baker Person, and Travis Jordan Baker; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In memory of Mrs. Baker, donations may be made to the Bolivar County Relay for Life, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or The Baptist Children's Village in Jackson, MS.
