Bobby Gene Hawkins

Mr. Bobby Gene Hawkins, 72, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Memorial Services will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Braswell officiating. Mr. Hawkins was born in Merigold, MS, on December 8, 1943, to James Sell Hawkins and Lela Crowder Hawkins. He worked most of his life farming and working with Cattle.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Sell Hawkins and Lela Crowder Hawkins; his brother, William Hawkins; and his nephew, Billy Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his daughter, Penny Tilghman (Bryan) of Gore Springs, MS; grandson, William Cody Bardwell (Tamaran) of Marion, AL and James Michael Arnold of Gore Springs, MS; great-grandchildren, McKynlee Bardwell and Kanien Bardwell both of Marion, AL; brother, James Roy Hawkins (Polly) of Merigold; sister, Margarite West of Prattville, AL; four nieces, Corrine Bell (John) of Pine Bluff, AR, Anne Smith (David) of Jackson, TN, Sue Savell (Doug) of Prattville, AL, and Angie Hawkins Kent (Billy Ray) of Merigold, MS; one nephew, James Hawkins, Jr. (Rhea) of Morton, MS; great-nephew, Jamie Mangum of Merigold, MS; and numerous other beloved extended family members. In memory of Mr. Hawkins, the family requests donations made to Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
