Mr. Bobby Leon Ivy, 73, of Waynesboro, MS, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Wayne General Hospital. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life service will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Hammer officiating. Interment will be in Merigold Cemetery.
Mr. Ivy was born in Cleveland, MS on April 28, 1942, to James Irving Ivy and Johnnie Clutts Ivy. He attended school in Elaine, Arkansas, and proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He loved to cook, garden, and collect and sell scrap metal.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Henry Ivy, Walter Ivy, Durwood Ivy, and Joe Ivy; and sister, Virginia Holloway. Mr. Ivy is survived by his children, Cindy Holland (Rick) of Benton, AR, Lamar Ivy (Grace) of Vaiden, MS, Melissa Redditt (Mike) of Vicksburg, MS, James Ivy (Thelma) of Philadelphia, MS, and Kerry Ivy of Waynesboro, MS; nine grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Kay Childs (Tommy) of Benton, AR, Ann Oliver (Marvin) of Nesbit, MS, Betty Hammer of Garland, TX, and Nettie Alford (George) of Bryant, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. In memory of Mr. Ivy, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
