Bonnie Sue Horton went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 25, 2021 in North Sunflower Community Hospital. She was born on April 4, 1945 in Greenwood, MS, the only daughter of the late Harry S. and Bonnie Green Bruton. Bonnie was a member of St. Luke Methodist Church. She began her teaching career at Riverside High School and continued teaching for 30+ years before retiring from Delta State University after devoting her life to educating others. Bonnie had a deep love for her family and spent her life enjoying time with them. She shared her love of the outdoors and animals with her children and grandchildren. During her life, she enjoyed traveling, attending concerts, and lunches with friends and family. Her welcoming smile, which she shared freely, will be remembered by all who knew her. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bobby L. Horton of Cleveland; her sons, Bradley B. Horton (Marcia) of Cleveland, MS and Jason D. Horton (DeLina) of Powell, WY; five grandchildren, Ashley Braden Horton, Susan Elizabeth Horton, Kelly Anne Horton of Cleveland, MS, Madelyn Emily Horton, and Samuel Jason Horton of Powell, WY. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
