Robert Earl "Bubba" Gilbert, 41, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019, at his home. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Bubba was born on February 2, 1978, to Homer and Patricia Gilbert in Cleveland, MS. On February 18, 2006, he married Trina Lee Stacy in Winona, MS. He worked as a factory worker at Modine, formerly known as Heatcraft, for 21 years. Bubba liked to fish, cook crawfish and grill in his spare time. He enjoyed hunting out of his front door, tinkering on vehicles, working on trucks, and attending races and bonfires. Bubba loved his family dearly, spending his time at home listening to country music and enjoying a cold one.
He is preceded in death by his father, Homer Gilbert, Jr.; brothers, James "Mackie" Gilbert and Homer Keith "PeeWee" Gilbert; step brother, Kenneth Dwayne "Slick" Kendall; and grandparents, Homer Gilbert, Sr. and Rosie Mae Gilbert, and William Reese and Gladys Hearn (Walter).
Bubba is survived by his wife, Trina Gilbert of Grenada; mother, Patricia Kendall of Grenada; children, Madison Gilbert of Cleveland, Chealsey Gilbert of Grenada, Jordan Gilbert of Cleveland, and Amber Gilbert of Grenada; step-son, Derek Blaylock of Winona; sisters, Karen Gilbert Grisham(Melissa) of Jackson and Tracie Holmes of Dallas, TX; step-brothers, James "Bubba" Kendall (Shannon) of Grenada and Jason Jake Kendall of Grenada; father-in-law, Larry Stacy (Charlene) of Liberty, IN; mother-in-law, Susan Cottingham (Kenny) of Winona, MS; aunts, Linda Morse (Bud) of Prudenville, MI, Tammy Freeman (George) of Sunflower, and Mary Lee Pope (Hubert) of Cleveland; uncle, Bobby Gilbert (Kay) of Pace; brother-in-laws, Larry Stacy, Jr. of Connersville, IN, Robbie Hendrix (Megan) of Liberty, IN, Brad Hendrix (Tammie) of Liberty, IN; sister-in-law, Heather Marie Matthews of Indianapolis, IN; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Pallbearers will be Derek Blaylock, Alton Gilbert, Ed Gilbert, John Earl Moody, Robert Kendall, and Champ Gilbert.
