Carlis Lee Fly, born on August 23, 1945, in Shaw, Mississippi, peacefully departed this life on April 8, 2025. A graveside service to honor the life of Carlis Lee Fly will be held on April 9, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Carlis was born August 23, 1945, to George and Louise Fly. He was a remarkable man whose presence touched the lives of many. Carlis attended Shaw School.
Carlis was deeply embedded in the world of manufacturing, leaving a significant mark during his time at Duofast and I.T.W Nail Manufacturing. His career was distinguished by a strong work ethic and a passion for contributing to his field.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Carlis served his country with pride in the National Guard, epitomizing the values of bravery and service.
Carlis married Elsie Jean Burnside on February 23, 1968. They were married for 57 years. Those who knew Carlis will fondly remember him as an avid fisherman and hunter, always appreciating the beauty of nature and finding joy in the great outdoors. He enjoyed sharing these passions with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure for years to come.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Louise Fly; his brothers, George D Fly and Danny Jack Fly; and his sister, Jeanette Commander.
Carlis leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Elsie Jean Fly, who was a constant source of support and love throughout their life together. He is survived by his sisters, Patsy James and Gaylene Combs, as well as his sister-in-law, Bettie Ann Smith. Carlis was also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews who will carry forward his spirit and values.
