Cecil Threet

Cecil Bernard Threet, 85, of Ruleville, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Ruleville Baptist Church with Rev. Cory Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mr. Threet was born August 24, 1929, in Skeen, MS to Cecil and Vivian Ray Threet, and grew up in Shelby, MS. He worked for many years as an Agricultural Pilot for Hollingsworth Flying Service and logged many hours without a single accident or crash. On July 4, 1963, he married Dorothy Marie Chandler Ward in Ruleville at the church Parsonage, and they moved to Cleveland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Vivian Threet; wife of 49 years, Marie Threet; and sister, Betty Sue Brown.
Mr. Threet is survived by his step-daughter, Gloria Pedersen (Bob) of Brandon; granddaughter, Erica Lorence (Michael) of Brandon; grandson, Dane Pedersen of Harrisonburg, VA; 4 great-granddaughters, Anna Grace Lorence, Bella Ward Lorence, Lady Catherine Lorence, and Pippa Marie Lorence all of Brandon; and niece, Phyllis Bridgers (Chip) of Terry.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Ervin, Galen Givens, Charlie Frances, Jimbo Eastland, and Mike Lorence.
In memory of Mr. Threet, donations may be made to Ruleville Baptist Church.
