Mr. Charles David Kellum, 88, of Grenada, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2018, at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. A Graveside Celebration of Life service will follow beginning at 12:30 p.m. January 3, 2018, at Jennie Baptist Church Cemetery in Lake Village, AR, with Bro. Bobby Miller officiating. Interment will be in Jennie Cemetery in Lake Village, AR.
Charles was born in Thorn, MS, on March 16, 1930, to Howard Kellum and Doris Wooldridge Kellum. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force excelling to the 62nd Fighter Interceptor Squadron, in which he served three years abroad in Japan and two years in the states, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, the Occupational Medal & the Korean Service Medal. After being honorably discharged, he returned to Mississippi where he became involved with auto sales eventually owning his own business. On April 16, 2007, he married Alice McCool Bowden in Lake Village, AR. He enjoyed watching westerns and spending time with his grandchildren. Faithfully every Sunday, you could find him watching Jimmy Swaggart as loud as his TV volume would go.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Doris Kellum; first wife, Patricia Miller Kellum; two brothers; and three sisters.
Charles is survived by his wife, Alice Kellum of Grenada; step-son, Mike Bowden (Natalie) of Grenada; seven grandchildren, Mallorie Bowden, Brecklyn Bowden, Landon Bowden, Morgan Bowden, Roman Bowden, Peyton Bowden, and Ireland Bowden; nieces, Ashley Kellum and Lauren Kellum; nephew, Scott Kellum; and special friends, Bobby and Peggy Miller.
