Mr. Charles Frank Walton, Sr., 88, of Kenner, LA, passed away at his home on October 17, 2016. Graveside services will 11:00 Friday, October 21, 2016, at Shelby Cemetery with Rev. Lowell Johnson officiating.
Mr. Walton was born September 3, 1928, to John Lamar Walton and Fannie May Walton. In his high school years, he played baseball and football. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On September 27, 1953, he married Mary Blanchard in Shelby, MS. He was a strong-faithed Baptist who was a member of Faith Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. As a lover a sports, he found joy in watching them all especially boxing. He was a very easy going gentleman who enjoyed staying at home watching TV, playing pool volleyball in the backyard, taking time in nature watching the birds, going to Jefferson Downs and watching the horse races, and eating sweetsâ¦especially ice cream. He was a strong man who survived many tough times with heart problems over the years. Most importantly, he was a devoted family member who was very close to his brothers and was a wonderful dad. He was loved by all and he will be missed dearly. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Walton; parents, John Lamar Walton and Fannie May Boyd Walton; and brothers, John Walton, Jr., Kenneth Walton, and Howard Walton. Mr. Walton is survived by his wife, Mary Francis Walton of Kenner, LA; son, Charles Walton, Jr. of Kenner, LA; grandson, Charles Frank Walton, III of Kenner, LA; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
