Mr. Charles Wayne Jones, 83, of Boyle passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church-Boyle with Bro. Clarence Edwards and Bro. Roy Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was born in Inverness on June 18, 1931, to Marvin Elton Jones and Julia Lorene Cohea Jones. He was a member of First Baptist Church-Boyle where he was a Deacon, Sunday school superintendant, and he even took the children's youth group on many trips. He also was the youngest deacon ever at First Baptist Church-Boyle, serving at the age of 19. On July 30, 1994, he married Doris Ann Whitten in Winnsboro, LA. He spent 70 plus years of his life doing his passion of farming while also being active in the Planters Club. Mr. Jones served on the 911 Commission for many years, was the president and board member of Huntington Point Hunting Club, was the #10 drainage commissioner, was a supporter of Mississippi State Athletics, and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He owned and operated his own plane and enjoyed flying greatly. He was a dedicated man to his family and his world revolved around those he loved dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Elton Jones and Julia Lorene Jones; and brothers, Robert Oliver "Bobby" Jones, Sr. and James Marvin Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Doris Jones of Boyle; son, Bradley Charles Jones (Michelle LeBlanc Jones) of Boyle; step-daughter, Brandi Bruce Cordill (Joey) of LA; step-son, William Lee "Billy" Bruce of LA; grandchildren, Bradley Charles "Charlie" Jones II, Jacob Nathaniel Cordill, Joseph Bruce Cordill, Jackson Talbert Cordill, and Kennedy Dion Bruce; sister, Elizabeth Cutts of Cleveland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colby Jones, Mike Jones, Tim Jones, Dr. Lamar Jones, Michael Vance, Wade Springer, George Evans III, Jonathan Parrott, Joey Parrott, and Neil Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Boone, Robert "Bob" Jones, Jr., Stanley Jones, James "Petie" Morgan, H.B. Medders, Michael LeBlanc, Jerry Bartleson, Robert Taylor, Gene Tharp, and the Deacons of First Baptist Church-Boyle.
