Mr. Charles Lee Braswell, 87, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015, at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Haney and Rev. John Bruce officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Braswell was born in Shaw, MS on May 12, 1928, to Vershall Braswell and Mary Bell Harbin Braswell. He proudly served our country in the United States Army as well as the National Guard. On May 25, 1957, he married Lois C. Ray in Shaw, MS. He worked for many years at Color Tile, and also worked as a security guard for at Dixie Tobacco. He was a member of Yale Street Baptist Church; and he loved woodwork, cooking, gardening, fishing, camping, and watching John Wayne movies as well as the cooking channel. He enjoyed riding to the river often with his best friend, Mr. Steed. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vershall Braswell and Mary Bell Harbin Braswell; wife, Lois Ray Braswell; grandson, Christopher Albritton; and twelve siblings. Mr. Braswell is survived by his daughters, Dale Albritton of Walls, MS, Nell Bruce of Cleveland, MS, and Peggy Boykin (Paul) of Horn Lake, MS; grandchildren, Amanda and Dustin Boykin both of Horn Lake, MS, Lori McCoy (Tristan) of Olive Branch, MS, and Kenny Bruce (Jessica) of Cleveland, MS; great-grandchildren, Lesley Boykin, Devon Boykin, Parker Lee Albritton, Jacob Lee Albritton, and Abigail Bruce. Pallbearers will be Dustin Boykin, Gene Braswell, Charles Weeks, Paul Boykin, Leon Weeks, and Ralph Rush.
