Charles Shelton Woodruff, Sr.

Mr. Charles Shelton "Benny" Woodruff, Sr., 91, of Boyle, MS, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, at his home. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Skene Baptist Church. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Skene Baptist church with Rev. Terrell Stringer and Rev. Jimmy Breland officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery. Mr. Woodruff was born in Skene, MS, on January 31, 1925, to Charles Benny Woodruff and Eva Shelton Woodruff. In December 1948, he married Emma Jo Yeager in Boyle, MS. He was a lifelong member of Skene Baptist Church. From a young age, he was a very hard worker who spent the majority of his time in the fields happily tending to his crop. In his spare time, you could find him hunting or spending time with his horses that he enjoyed greatly. He is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jo Yeager Woodruff; parents, Charles Benny Woodruff and Eva Shelton Woodruff; and brothers, Gene Woodruff, Billy Woodruff, and Bobby Woodruff. Mr. Woodruff is survived by his son, Charles "Chuck" Woodruff of Boyle; brother, Walter Woodruff (Kay) of New Orleans, LA; and beloved extended family members.
