Claude Hooper

Claude "Dick" Hooper, 88, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. John Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. Hooper was born in Merigold on September 23, 1925, to Roscoe L Hooper and Gladys Medders Hooper. He married Ernestine McKnight on July 27, 1951. He worked as a Baxter Health care for 34 years. He was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist church. He loved his family and God.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gladys Hooper and Roscoe Hooper; brother Walter Books Hooper; sisters, Frances McCrory and Rachel Hooper.
He is survived by his wife Ernestine McKnight Hooper; son, Charles Hooper; daughter, Sheryl Stephens; grandchildren, Ginger Naron, John William Ray (Holly), John William Lovett; great grandchildren: Lyndsi Naron, Lanie Naron, Lexie Lovett and Swayde Lovett; brothers, Phid Hooper and Howard Hooper; sister-in-law, Dolly Hooper; and several nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brent Mitchell, John William Lovett, Bill Naron, Phillip Lee, Johnny Mitchell, and Walt Hooper
Memorials may be made to Morrison Chapel Baptist church Building Fund (Pews).
