Daniel Alexander

Daniel Alexander, loving son, father, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing him, passed away on October 7, 2023, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  Interment will be at North Cleveland Cemetery. 

He was born on February 28, 1985, in Cleveland, Mississippi, to Wilson Edward Alexander Jr. and Lisa Mitchell.

Daniel was a remarkable individual who lived a life filled with diverse experiences. He attended Cleveland High School and went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree from Delta State University. Daniel was the president of Kappa Sig fraternity.  Daniel had a deep devotion to his fraternity and his fraternity brothers.  During his time in high school and while attending college he worked for Sherwin Williams, Fleming Lumber Company and In Time.

After completing his education, he pursued a career as an insurance agent in Memphis, Tennessee.  Even though it was a short period of time, he made lasting connections with colleagues and clients alike who greatly admired his professionalism and interpersonal skills.

After his time in Memphis, Daniel worked as a Construction Manager in the cell phone and cellular tower industry and eventually transitioned into the commercial construction field.  These fields of work afforded him the opportunity to travel across America. His work took him far and wide as he contributed his skills to various construction projects throughout the country.

During his younger years Daniel was inseparable with his grandfather Hugh Mitchell. He enjoyed the outdoors especially duck hunting with friends, camping with family, kayaking and fishing.  Daniel also loved cooking.  Even though he had to travel more than he wanted he relished every opportunity to spend time with his children.  Camping and fishing with them was his ultimate happy place.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pete & Shine Alexander and Hugh & Gloria Mitchell.

His loss is felt by his surviving family and friends, his parents, Wilson Edward Alexander Jr. and Lisa Mitchell; wife, Haley Burke Alexander; children, Colleen Bree Alexander and Cashton Edward Alexander; uncles, Chris Mitchell and William Alexander; cousins, Nolan Mitchell and Brock Mitchell. 

Daniel Alexander will be remembered for his compassionate spirit, unwavering dedication, and warm demeanor. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his loved ones find strength during this difficult period of mourning.
