Daniel Earl “Danny” Etheridge, 71, of Rosedale, MS, went to His Heavenly Home Thursday, February 2, 2023. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be at Beulah Cemetery.
Danny was born August 11, 1951, to Edward Earl Sr. and Nell Marie Etheridge in McComb, MS.
He loved people, especially the ladies. When asked if he had any girlfriends in teasing his response was always 15. He was chosen to be the Valentine King at the nursing home because everyone loved Him. He enjoyed visiting with people and never met a stranger. If you stopped and spent a little time with Him, He would never forget you or your name. He had an obsession with boots and hats and would talk you out of yours if you weren’t careful. He loved M & Ms, root beer and the occasional cigar when Mom wasn’t looking. One of His favorite pastimes was going for a ride on the levee looking at the cows and visiting with the tame horses even though they would take the notion of sharing his tea and spilling it in his lap. He loved watching the tractors working in the field. He loved music especially Eddie Arnold. He would spend endless hours thumbing through his Sears catalog. Danny adored Santa Clause and Christmas time with all the pretty decorations and lights. He loved the Holidays, long weekends and especially birthdays spent with family. Danny was the joy, heart and soul of our family.
He is predeceased by his father, Edward Earl Etheridge Sr; birth mother, Nell Marie VanNorman Etheridge; and brother, Keith Kovach.
Danny is survived by his mother of 61 years, Mable Stevens Etheridge; brothers, Ronnie (Becky) Etheridge, Brian Etheridge, Nicholas (Annie) Kovach, Edward Earl “Eddie” Etheridge Jr; sisters, Janice (Charles) Strait, Brenda Johnson, and Linda (Neal) Skipper; along with a host of nieces and nephews.
