David "Sam" Rossetti, 90, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 10, 2014, at Methodist Hospital in Germantown. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2014, at St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church in Shaw with a Rosary immediately following beginning at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church with Father Tom Mullally and Father Charles Bucciantini presiding. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery.
Mr. Rossetti was born in Longswitch, MS on March 24, 1924, to Ned Rossetti and Annie Petrini Rossetti. Growing up he attended Shaw School, and was a member of St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Church. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII where he received a Bronze Star as well as a Purple Heart. After his service, he remained active with his fellow veterans by participating as a member of the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, the DAV, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ned and Annie Rossetti; and siblings, Floyd Rossetti, Louis Rossetti, Frank Rossetti, Rosa Cocilova, Joe Rossetti, and Pauline Giachelli.
Mr. Rossetti is survived by his son, John Rossetti (Judy) of Germantown, TN; daughter, Augusta Logan (Chuck) of Moscow, TN; grandchildren, John Reed Rossetti, Keri Cook (Pat) and Chip Logan; and great-grandson, Brayden Cook.
Pallbearers will be Reed Rossetti, Chuck Logan, Chip Logan, Pat Cook, Kenneth Rossetti, and Tommy Giachelli.
