Deborah "Debbie" Carroll, beloved resident of Cleveland, MS, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.
A visitation in honor of Ms. Debbie will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 1-2pm at Ray Funeral Home. Following the visitation, a memorial service will take place at 2pm in the same location. It will be a time for friends and family to come together and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.
Debbie's journey began on January 12, 1954, when she was born to Gene T. Carroll and Elsie Bailey in Greenville, MS. At a young age, her family moved to Cleveland where she grew up and attended Cleveland High School. Debbie's passion for education led her to Delta State University, where she earned her Master's Degree in special education.
For over 27 years, Debbie dedicated herself to teaching in special education. She touched the lives of countless students throughout her career before eventually retiring. It was through her work that she found fulfillment and purpose.
However, her greatest joy in life came from being a grandmother. Debbie adored her two granddaughters, Norah Cat Rochelle and Neala Rochelle. They brought immense happiness into her life and were a constant source of love and inspiration.
In reminiscing about Debbie's life, we remember those who were there to greet her as she entered eternity. She is preceded in passing by her father Gene T. Carroll and one son, Paul Darryl Rochelle. We take solace in knowing that they are now reunited in eternal peace.
Debbie leaves behind her loving son, David (Ashley) Rochelle of Petal, MS, as well as her special friend, Sammy Garcia of Cleveland, MS. Her memory will forever be cherished by her three sisters: Barbara (John) Reves of Terry, MS; Laurie Williamson of Seminary, MS; and Dixie (Victor) Ford of Seminary, MS. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
Debbie Carroll's compassion and selflessness touched the lives of many. Her smile would light up the room, her warmth would uplift those around her, and her kindness would bring comfort to all who knew her. Though she may no longer be with us physically, her spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.
