Deleslyn Ann Dakin

Deleslyn Ann Dakin, 83, of Cleveland, went to be with the Lord August 5, 2022.  Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS.  Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 11:30 a.m. Pallbearers will be Matt Griffin, Mike Griffin, Andrew Chicoine, Steven Fulgham, Danny Mize, and Myron Johnson.  Honorary Pallbearers are Mickey Thompson, Tom Holder, and Jeffrey Thompson.  Interment will be at New Cleveland Cemetery.

Deleslyn was born June 12, 1939, to James and Myrtle Fulgham in Starkville, MS.  Deleslyn graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Education.   She received a Master’s in Library Science from Delta State University, where she was an Administrative Assistant in the College of Education for 22 years.  Deleslyn married her husband Cameron Dakin on March 12, 1961, in Starkville, MS.  They were married for 62 years.  She was a member of First Baptist Church. Deleslyn enjoyed gardening, antique hunting and was a wonderful baker.  She made the best chocolate pies. 

She is predeceased by her parents, 6 sisters, and 1 brother.

Deleslyn is survived by her loving husband, Cameron Dakin; and daughter, Melanie Jo Chicoine (Andrew). 

Memorial can be made to the Adult Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
