Delois Marie Smith

Mrs. Delois Marie Thompson Klemme Smith, 74, of Tutwiler, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016, in Memphis. Visitation will be 12:00 to 1:00 Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Loyle Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery. Mrs. Smith was born on April 13, 1941, in Copiah County, to Troy Tompson and Beula Maybell Lucas Thompson. In 1975, she married Benjamin Smith in Tutwiler, MS. She loved to work puzzles, gardening, and flowers. Roses were her favorite. As a skilled cook, she was known for her delicious biscuits. She was a hard working woman who held many jobs. She loved kids and raised many over the years, even those who were not her own.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Smith; parents, Troy Thompson and Beulah Maybell Thompson; grandchildren, Jessica M. Aven and John Wayne Smith; and siblings, Duford Thompson, Dorothy Pittman, Dorris Shamblin, and Dae Stutts. Mrs. Smith is survived by her children, Anita Hudgins of Tutwiler, Sharon Klemme of Tutwiler, Christeen White (Morris) of Clarksdale, Audrey Aven (Jerry) of Vance, and Troy Smith (Cori) of Scobey; grandchildren, Sabrina Renee Hudgins, Donna-Joe Hudgins (Gaige), James Hudgins, Jr., Rosie White, Trey White, Meaghan Smith, and Sarah Grace Smith; great-grandchildren, Katelynn Smith, Daylon Hudgins, Tyler Hudgins, and Hunter Odom; siblings, Daisy Sterling, Dell Wheeler, and Dora Harvey; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Christie Smith, Gaige Hudgins, Jerry Aven, Joseph Spinosa, David Porter, Jr., and James Smith.
