Donald Hugh Davis "Don", 73, of Indianola died November, 27, 2013 at his home. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Eastwood Baptist Church, Indianola, Mississippi, Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 30, 2013 at Eastwood Baptist Church with Grover Glenn and Jimmy Sykes officiating. Interment will follow in Indianola City Cemetery.
Mr. Davis was born in Greenville on October 12, 1940 to Warren A. Davis Sr., and Jennie Lee Kern. He worked as a Boiler Specialist for 40 years and was retired from Ergon, Inc. He married Susan Finely Davis on June 7, 2003 in Cleveland. He was a member of the Eastwood Baptist church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Visitation will be at 1:00 with funeral following at Eastwood Baptist Church in Indianola on Saturday. He loved building and flying model airplanes.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 36 years, Billielu Sykes Davis; son, Donald H. Davis Jr. "Davi"; Brothers, Warren A. Davis, Jr. "Sonny", and Charles A Davis "Bunny".
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Susan Finely Davis of Indianola; daughter, Maleah Davis Reynolds (Barry) of Indianola, step daughters, Shelly Spruill Mitchell (Bobby) of Benoit, and Erin Fondren Coleman (Chris) of Yazoo; 7 grandchildren and a host of much loved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cody Reynolds, Bobby Mitchell Jr., Jon Mark Stovall, Chris Coleman, Jimmy Sykes, and Greg Sykes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bradley Fondren, Bailey Mitchell, and Brandon Mitchell.
In honor of Mr. Davis, memorials may be made to St. Jude.
