Mrs. Dora Deane King Mills, 90, of Benoit, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Washington Care Center in Greenville. Visitation will be 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be 6:00 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Woodlawn, TX, with Rev. Charles Shaw officiating. Mrs. Mills was born in Orange Field, TX on November 4, 1925, to Perry Russell King and Pallie Ethel Deane Tillford King. She graduated from Batson High School in Batson, TX. Mrs. Mills worked as a clerk for the United States Postal Service in Batson, TX. During this time she met her husband Sidney Emmette Mills, and they married on September 3, 1954, in San Augustine, TX. She was a member of Benoit Union Church, United Methodist Women, and The Texas Eastern Star. She served as secretary/treasurer of the Ladies Bible Class for over twenty five years. She enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband, seeing sights all over the United States and visiting places like Hawaii and Alaska. She loved to shop, read, be with family, and socialize with her friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Emmette Mills; parents, Perry Russell King and Pallie Ethel Deane Tillford Mills; and step-daughter, Carolyn Kay Green. Mrs. Mills is survived by her son, Rodney Mills (Jeannie) of Benoit; daughter, Peggy Mills McGhee (Joe) of Batesville; step-son, Barry Emmette Mills (Kay) of Lubbock, TX; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church or charity of your choice.
