Dot, as she was lovingly known by her friends and family, was born in West, MS, on January 31, 1923. Raised during the Great Depression, she had a happy childhood surrounded by family and her two little brothers whom she loved dearly, James and Billy. Dot earned her nursing degree from King's Daughters Hospital in Greenville, Miss., after passing her nursing boards at the King Edward Hotel in Jackson. She proudly worked as an RN for 30 years, many of them as a night nurse at the hospital in Ruleville, MS, where she competently worked in emergency, labor and delivery, and any department she was needed. Widowed at a young age, Dot raised her two children, Linda and Tim, while working full time as a nurse. In 1995, she caught the bridal bouquet at her granddaughter's wedding and one year later married William Jones, her beloved husband of 19 years. Together they camped, fished, and traveled the world. Full of life and love, she cherished time spent with friends and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dot is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Tim Buckley; her husband, Buck Buckley; and brother, William O. Weeks. She is survived by her husband, Bill Jones of Cleveland, MS; her daughter, Linda Russell of Brandon, MS.; her step sons, Pat Jones of Houston, Texas, Tim Jones of Madison, MS, and Jeff Jones of West, MS; her brother, James Weeks of Oxford, MS; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, a charity she dearly loved, or a charity of your choice.
