Doris Bullock Rozier

Doris Bullock Rozier, 87, of Brevard, NC, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2016. Visitation will be 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. James Breland officiating. Interment will follow in Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville, MS. Doris was born March 11, 1929 in Sweet Water, Alabama to Robert Lee and Pearlie West Bullock. She had been married to Clifford Rozier who was a member of the United States Army taking them to many posts in the States and Germany. Later Doris moved near her family in Cleveland, MS, where she retired from Cleveland State Bank after working for many years. In 1999, she moved to Brevard, NC, where she was a member of Glady Branch Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, gardening, playing Bridge and participating in the activities at Silvermont Park. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon Bullock, Earl Bullock, Clifford Bullock, Buddy Bullock, Ferrell Bullock, sisters, Louise Gant, Bessie Tedder, Jean Dean, Anita Kea, grandson Eugene Veenhof. Doris is survived by her daughters, Debbie Beach (Woodie) of Vicksburg, MS, and Dee Veenhof (Willem) of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Meredith Beach Fox (Frank) of Pearl City, HI; Anton Veenhof of Fort Lauderdale, FL; great granddaughters, Bridget Fox and Rory Fox of Pearl City, HI; sisters, Janet (Joe) Morgan of Batesville, MS, and Carol (Gerald) Vance of Indianola, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Don Gant, Jerry Bullock, Bobby Douglas, Mike Gant, Scott Gant and Sean Bullock. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Care Partners/Hospice in Transylvania County, P.O. Box 21, Brevard, NC 28712.
