Miss Doris "Dot" Crutcher, 82, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Cleveland. Celebration of Life Services will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the First Baptist Church Cleveland with Brother Brad Beckwith and Doctor Macklyn Hubbell officiating. Interment will follow in Shaw Cemetery.
Miss Crutcher was born in Cleveland, MS on January 1, 1932, to Russell Pevy Crutcher and Doris Dare Stewart Crutcher. She enjoyed a long career at Cleveland State Bank, serving as Vice President and Secretary to the Board of Directors. She was a member of Financial Woman's International and National Association of Bank Women, Inc. serving as State Council Chairman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland where she taught Sunday School and served as Chairman of the Woman's Missionary Society for many years. Her love of family and her church were her greatest hallmarks. She had many friends whom she cherished and enjoyed during her retirement years. She was the epitome of southern grace and kindness. Doris left no obligation unfulfilled, no job unfinished and no friend or loved one untouched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Doris Crutcher; brother, Russell Pevy Crutcher, Jr. and sister-in-law, Barbara Crutcher.
Miss Crutcher is survived by brother, James Robert Crutcher (Adeline) Crutcher of Ellisville, sister, Gloria "Doty" Crutcher Kelly (Cecil) of Baton Rouge, LA; four nieces, Dare Kelly Didier (Belton) of St. Francisville, LA, Cathye Crutcher Harper (Jimmy) of Hazelhurst, Sally Crutcher Pleasant ( Vernon) of Jackson, Molly Kelly Starkey (Don) of Prairieville, LA, eight nephews, James William "Bill" Crutcher of Leesville, LA, Frank Holliman Crutcher (Debbie) of Columbus MT, James Robert Crutcher, Jr. (Becky) of Hattiesburg, John Nicholas Crutcher (Karen) of Hattiesburg, Charles Christopher Crutcher (Bethany) of Madison, Richard E. Crutcher of Ellisville, and Stephen K. Crutcher (Sharon) of Rogers, Ak., Russell Patrick Kelly (Dawn) of Metairie, LA and a host of great-nieces and nephews and their families.
Pallbearers will be her nephews: Bill Crutcher, Chris Crutcher, Jimmy Crutcher, Nick Crutcher, Steve Crutcher, Belton Didier, Jimmy Harper, Pat Kelly, and Don Starkey. The family would also like to invite all of the Board of Directors at Cleveland State Bank to serve as honorary pallbearers.
