Doris Thompson

Mrs. Doris Jean Thompson, 82, of Cleveland, MS passed away, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at her home. Visitation will be Monday, August 22, 2011 at Ray Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Celebration of life service will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home, Monday, August 22, 2011. Burial will follow services in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Thompson was born August 24, 1928 to L. D. Thompson and Jennie Estella McMinn Thompson in Pace, MS. She married Frank Price Thompson April 3, 1947 in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Thompson had such a passion for her country. She loved traveling with her husband all over the United States, while he was in the Navy. She was an avid bird watcher and bird feeder and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Thompson adored her two granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Frank Price Thompson.
She is survived by her daughters Lynda Morris (Sam) of Collierville, TN and Susan Bills of Cleveland, MS; granddaughters, Kelly Morris of Collierville, TN and Jennie Bills of Cleveland, MS; sisters, Madge Smith of Starkville, MS, Virginia Brittian of Pasadena, TX and Evie Ellis of Hilton Head, SC.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Village or charity of choice.
