Mrs. Dorothy Grant Burrell, 86, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Cleveland Personal Care. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be 11:00 a.m Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Clarence Edwards and Bro. John Thomas officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Burrell was born September 21, 1926 in Drew, to Howard Benjamin Grant and Ione Martin Grant. She married Harry Allen Burrell on December 21, 1945. She was the homemaker of the family. She was an avid reader and a wonderful cook. She loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. She was a member of the Boyle Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ione Grant; husband, Harry Burrell; son, Allen Lamar Burrell; daughter in law, Rose Burrell; and a brother, Howard Benjamin Grant, Jr.
Mrs. Burrell is survived by her children; Judy Burrell Taylor (Robert), Harry Dennis Burrell (Carol), and a daughter in law, Michelle Knight Burrell; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Peggy Grant Park (George) and Sue Grant Givens; and a brother, Thomas Kenneth Grant.
Pallbearers will be Brad Jones, Taylor Burrell, Jared Burrell, Benjamin Burrell, Matthew Burrell, Tayden Burrell, Brett Burrell, and Charlie Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Eddie Causey.
Memorials may be made to Boyle First Baptist Church, Morrison Chapel Baptist Church, or the charity of your choice.
