Douglas McClure

Mr. Douglas McClure, 88, of Shaw, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m with Brother Robert Haney and Pastor Robert Browning officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. McClure was born September 14, 1926, to William Thomas McClure and Martha Grissett. He graduated from Shaw High School. He married Nettie Helen Simmons on October 21, 1948. He proudly served in the United States Armed Forces. He served as Chairman of the Board of Porter Bayou Drainage District. He was one of the First members of Interstate Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School, was Choir Director and Treasurer. He was a devoted family man who loved his family dearly. He was a life long resident of the Interstate Community, near Shaw, MS.
He is preceded in death by his 5 brothers, Victor McClure, J.C. McClure, George McClure, Allan McClure and John McClure; 2 sisters, Mildred Boone and Mable Crawford.
Mr. McClure is survived by his wife, Nettie; children, Roland (Patricia) McClure of Monroe, LA, Joel (Stephanie) McClure of Olive Branch, MS; 3 grandchildren, Ethan (Kristen) McClure, Alex McClure and Maddie McClure.
Pallbearers will be James McClure, Walter McClure, Wayne Allan McClure, Keith King, Ethan McClure and Alex McClure. Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph McClure and Dwight Boone.
