Mrs. Edna Ruth Towles, 87, of Cleveland passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2015, in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Towles was born in Tallahatchie, MS on June 10, 1927, to Jackson Doyne Rice and Leona Genail Rice. On June 7, 1946, she married Carl Towles in Cleveland, MS. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a past president and Circle Chairman of WMU, and a past member of Fairfield Garden Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jackson Doyne Rice and Leona Genail Rice; husband, Carl Towles; sister, Mary Parrish.
She is survived by her children, Edward Towles (Carol Ann), Don Towles (Billie), and Mary Mitchell (Todd); grandchildren, Michael Towles, Melanie Towles Russell, Allen Towles (Callie), Josh Mitchell, and Bethany Cassibry (Johnny); and 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack Rice; and sister, Thorvald Roy.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
