Elizabeth White Walker, born Grenada, Mississippi March 3, 1950, to Sidney and Priscilla Cook White.
She graduated John Rundle High School with honors in 1968 and Mississippi State University with honors in 1972.
Elizabeth married attorney James H. Walker, June 8, 1974, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Elizabeth proudly worked forty-nine years as a claims representative at Social Security Administration, seeing thousands of Bolivar County residents over the years.
She was kind, compassionate and funny with a brilliant mind and a great love for her family and helping others. Everyone Elizabeth encountered was a friend to her, she often learned perfect strangers' entire life stories with just a friendly smile and an open heart. Elizabeth enjoyed spontaneous shopping road trips with her daughter, Amy, often deciding the destination along the way. Many of her fondest memories were celebratory birthday adventures with Amy in March and July of every year, traveling all over the US, coast to coast.
We were all blessed by her presence in our lives and we are all better people for having known her. Our lives will never be the same without her.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Priscilla Cook White of Grenada, Mississippi.
She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, James H. Walker and her daughter, Amy Walker, both of Cleveland, Mississippi, her brother John White, and his wife Diann, of Bartlett, Tennessee, and her nephew, Sean White and his wife Christie of Simpsonville, South Carolina, and her beloved grand dogs Duncan and Huckleberry.
Pallbearers are Robert Walker, Ronald Walker, John White, Sean White, Shannon Holland, Ralph Kelly, Mickey Hawkins, Laurence Mellen, Billy Morrison, and Jimmy Russell.
Special appreciation to Dr. Charles Brock, Dr. Steven Clark, and her nurses at Bolivar Medical Center.
