Emmett Carroll Sweeden

Mr. Emmett Carroll Sweeden, 80, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Joy Health and Rehab in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Smith Funeral Home in Greenville. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginnin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015, at Smith Funeral Home with Brother Ed McDaniel officiating. Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery.
Mr. Sweeden was born in Arkansas on November 15, 1934, to Marshall Claude Sweeden and Hester Isabell Dixon Sweeden. On June 16, 1953, he married Kathryn Louise Muller in Greenville, MS. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a loving father and husband who absolutely adored his grandchildren and loved his dog Bentley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Claude Sweeden and Hester Isabell Dixon Sweeden.4 Brothers, Ted, Bill, Raymond. 1 Sister, Billy Jean.
Mr. Sweeden is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathryn Louise Muller; daughter, Kimberly Sweeden Baioni (Keith) of Cleveland; sons, Scott Alan Sweeden (August Laurent) of Marietta, GA and Bruce Kevin Sweeden (Debra Tonas) of Milton, GA; grandsons, Brett Baioni and Andrew Baioni; and granddaughters, Anna Kathryn Baioni, Kathryn Sweeden, Maggie Sweeden, and Sophie Sweeden.
Pallbearers will be Brett Baioni, Victor Smith, Andrew Baioni, Billy McDaniel, Charles Cocohran, and Robert King.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society.
