Emmit McKnight

Mr. Emmitt McKnight, 84, of Indianola, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at his home. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Ed Hall officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mr. McKnight was born September 7, 1928 to Melton H. McKnight and Claudie Barrentine McKnight. He served in the US Air Force for four years and retired after 22 years from Rockwell International in California. After retiring he returned to Mississippi in 1974 and was the owner of M&M Electric in Cleveland, he retired in 1992.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia McKnight; son, Roy McKnight; and sister, Evelyn Weeks.
Mr. McKnight is survived by his sons, Joe McKnight of Cleveland, and Michael McKnight of Branson, Mo; sisters, Katherine Mullen, and Almarene Palmer; seven adopted children; and his special friend Dot Hunt.
