Mrs. Frances Lucille Flurry Pentecost, 82, of the Litton community near Shaw, MS was gathered to her people in heaven on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 in Ridgeland, MS. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 1st, 2020 at Shaw Cemetery. Mrs. Frances was born on December 18th, 1937 in Oxford, MS to Lester and Lucille Flurry. She received a bachelor's degree in Home Economics from the Mississippi State College for Women. She married William Edward Pentecost Jr. on May 13th, 1962 in Winona, MS at the Moore Memorial Methodist Church. She was talented at many things. She enjoyed needlework, sewing, scrapbooking, oil painting, photography, crocheting, genealogical family research, and horseback trail rides with her family. She was a lifelong Methodist and a member of the Benoit Union Church. She loved reading and studying the Bible. Christmas was her favorite holiday. She liked to send cards with letters of encouragement and biblical scriptures to U.S. soldiers all over the world through her church ministry during the Christmas holiday and privately to her friends and family year-round. She collected angels, stamps, and porcelain art pieces. Mrs. Frances was a faithful Christian who loved spending time with her family. She is preceded by parents, Lester and Lucille Flurry; husband, William Edward Petecost, Jr., son, Allen Pentecost; sister, Lester Frerichs. Mrs. Frances is survived by daughters, Laura Pentecost (husband, Mark Mays) and Maggie Gilbert (husband, Lance Gilbert); sisters, Meredieth Gillespie and Katharine Pratt; grandchildren, Sarah Manrriquez (husband, Nick), William Allen Pentecost, and Mary Margaret "Meg" Mays. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bayou Academy for library books (the grandparent's bookfair).
