Frances Shuler Griffin, 92 of Jacksonville, FL passed away on November 4, 2010. Frances was born in Cleveland, MS and was the daughter of John Archibald and Marie Mitchell Shuler. She was a graduate of Cleveland High School and attended Delta State College. She was preceded in death by the father of her 2 sons John Hartman Griffin, her sister Margaret Love Shuler Gary, and niece Gloria Gary Gammill. She is survived by her sons Kirby Hartman Griffin (Adele) of Jacksonville, FL and John Shuler Griffin ( Gina) of Oxford. She leaves 6 grandchildren Margaret Griffin Pickett (Price), Kathryn Buckner Griffin, John Parker Griffin, Nancy Sinclair Duncan, Georgia Victoria Griffin, Pruitt Reed Griffin, a great grandchild Kathryn Miller Pickett as well as 3 nieces Shula Gary Mussnug, Dawn Gary Pohl, and Sharon Gary MacDonald. In her career she was secretary to Oscar Johnston who founded The National Cotton Council and Delta and Pine Land Co. For 14 years she was Executive Secretary for Federal judge William C. Keady of the Northern District of Mississippi. A graveside service will be at the New Cleveland Cemetary at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 13th.
