Mrs. Frankie S. Hanks, of Ridgeland, formerly of Rosedale, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, at Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Beulah Cemetery in Beulah, MS.
Mrs. Hanks was born November 23, 1918, in Bolivar County to Alta Howard Stewart and Clara Hattie Hagan Stewart. On December 23, 1938, she married Claude Evans Hanks in Shaw, MS. She managed Dattle's Department Store for 49 years, was a member of First Baptist Church in Rosedale, and her favorite pastime was sewing. She could make just about anything and enjoyed making jewelry as well. Her biggest enjoyment was the love that she held for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Claude Evans Hanks; and her parents, Alta Howard Stewart and Clara Hattie Hagan Stewart.
Mrs. Hanks is survived by her daughter, Linda Boyette (Lamar) of Clinton; two grand-daughters, Michelle O'Briant of Clinton and Cindy Moore (Elmo) of Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Evan, Michael, Trey and Jessica Moore of Brandon, and Hunter Jones and Jamee O'Briant of Clinton; one great-great-grandchild, Hayden Moore of Brandon; and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Evan Moore, Michael Moore, Trey Moore, and Hunter Jones.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Rosedale, 403 Front Street, Rosedale, MS 38769.
